Historic Academic Agreement between Uttarakhand Open University and Far Western University, Nepal Haldwani, March 19, 2026 Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani, signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Far Western University, Nepal, to strengthen academic and research collaboration.
This agreement will provide a new direction to knowledge, research, and cultural cooperation between the two universities.Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Navin Chandra Lohani said that this agreement is not only a partnership between the two universities but also an important step towards preserving the shared cultural heritage of India and Nepal.He stated that the two institutions will jointly conduct various educational programs, including those in the Nepali language, and advance research on the geographical and cultural studies of the Himalayan region.
Nepal UGC Chairman Professor Dev Raj Adhikari expressed his pleasure at this partnership and thanked Uttarakhand Open University, calling it an important initiative toward bilateral educational cooperation.Prof. Hemraj Pant, Vice Chancellor of Far Western University, said that this agreement is full of hope and possibilities for both the universities and they are committed to achieving the set objectives together.
